TENTATIVE ASSIGNMENTS AND EVALUATION
The Portfolio:
The portfolio will be the one major writing responsibility in this course. It should be set up like a book with a table of contents and an introduction.
There should be three discipline-specific chapters, one apiece devoted to Anthropology, English and History. Each of these chapters will consist of component mini-assignments designed by your instructors.
The fourth chapter will be your Magnum Opus travel writing project, an essay that will combine description and analysis of the Greek trip with the archaeological, historical and mythological topics we have studied in the course.
There should be an introduction and may also be an appendix that includes photographs and scrapbook material from your trip.
Grading:
Each of the discipline-specific chapters will be graded by the appropriate instructor. All three instructors, however, will grade the Magnum Opus essay and the portfolio in its entirety. The grade breakdown for the three courses is tentatively set up as follows:
